Manage Multiple Python Versions with Scoop

Scoop can install multiple Python versions side by side. Add its versions bucket, then install the current Python package and the versioned package you need. For example:

scoop bucket add versions
scoop install python python310

Use scoop reset to choose which installed version is exposed through Scoop’s command shims:

scoop reset python310
python --version

To switch back to the python package, reset that package instead:

scoop reset python

reset changes the active command-line version; it is not a per-project Python environment manager. Use a virtual environment for project-specific dependencies. See Scoop’s guide to switching Ruby, Python, and PHP versions and the Scoop Versions bucket for current package names.
